MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- In non-conference play for the final time this season, the Reinhardt College men's basketball team fell 85-83 at Berry College on Monday night after the Vikings snapped a tie by making a two-point field goal with 1.5 seconds left at the Steven J. Cage Center. The loss was just Reinhardt's second in its last 14 games.
Reinhardt trailed most of the first half and was down 41-38 at halftime. In a back-and-forth second half, the Eagles faced a six-point deficit with 1:26 to go but rallied to tie the contest before Berry's game-winning shot.
From the free throw line, the Vikings finished 25-of-32 (78.1 percent), compared to just 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) for Reinhardt. The Eagles' bench outscored Berry's 40-12. Reinhardt was outrebounded 40-31.
Joseph Odugbela came off the bench to produce 18 points and four rebounds for the Eagles while Quinton Spivey had 15 points and five boards. Derrick Delagrana collected 11 points and a game-high three assists.
Reinhardt is 13-6 overall while Berry improves to 6-11. The Eagles are on the road this Wednesday for an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest with the Bluefield College Rams at 7:30 p.m. in Bluefield, Va. Prior to the men's game, the Reinhardt and Bluefield women's squads play at 5:30 p.m. as part of a doubleheader.
