MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- In its final non-conference game of the season on Monday night, the Reinhardt College women's basketball squad lost 70-47 on the road to the Berry College Lady Vikings at the Steven J. Cage Center.
After scoring the contest's first three points, Reinhardt fell behind by 22 and trailed 39-19 at halftime. In the second half, the Lady Eagles got within 18 points early before the Lady Vikings took their biggest lead, 70-42, with one minute remaining.
Berry shot 42.4 percent (25-of-59) from the field while Reinhardt finished at just 21.7 percent (15-of-69). Both teams struggled from three-point range with the Lady Eagles making only 1-of-17 (5.9 percent) and the hosts 3-of-15 (20.0 percent). The Lady Vikings had a slim 48-46 edge in rebounds.
For Reinhardt, Jordan Marsh ended with nine points and eight rebounds while Chase Morgan was credited with eight points and four boards off the bench. Also in reserve roles, Kinsey Galyon tallied seven points and five rebounds while freshman Sarah Hewett also scored seven points.
The Lady Eagles drop to 10-12 overall while Berry is 10-7. Reinhardt plays an Appalachian Athletic Conference game on Wednesday at the Bluefield College Lady Rams. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. in Bluefield, Va., with the Reinhardt-Bluefield men's contest following at 7:30 as part of a doubleheader.
