The two teams played to a 1-1 tie after two 10-minute overtime periods before the match was decided in a shootout, which Tennessee Wesleyan won 4-3.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead at the 52:15 mark before Reinhardt's Lindsay Taylor answered with an unassisted goal at 81:28, tying the game and sending it into overtime and eventually the shootout.
The Lady Eagles were outshot 18-14, but took 11 shots on goal to TWC's eight. Reinhardt had a 6-5 edge in corner kicks and the hosts committed 12 fouls, compared to just two for the Lady Eagles.
