WALESKA, Ga. -- The schedule has been set for the 2009 Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship tournament, with opening-round matches being played this Saturday at campus sites of the higher seeded teams. The fifth-seeded Reinhardt College Eagles will take part in a quarterfinal game at the No. 4-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan College Lady Bulldogs on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Athens, Tenn.
Other first-round matches include the second-seeded Milligan College Lady Buffaloes hosting the No. 7-seeded Montreat College Lady Cavaliers and the third-seeded Bryan College Lady Lions entertaining the No. 6-seeded Bluefield College Lady Rams with both of those games starting at 4 p.m. The top-seeded Union College Lady Bulldogs have an opening-round bye.
During the regular season, Reinhardt lost 3-2 at Tennessee Wesleyan on Sept. 22. The winner of Saturday's contest between the Lady Eagles and Lady Bulldogs will advance to play at Union in a semifinal contest on Friday, Nov. 13. Union will host both semifinal games next Friday and the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Barbourville, Ky. The winner of the tournament earns an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship event.
Reinhardt finished the regular season at 6-9-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the AAC while TWC ended 5-11-1 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
