WALESKA, Ga. -- The schedule has been set for the 2009 Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship tournament, with opening-round matches being played this Saturday at campus sites of the higher seeded teams. The fifth-seeded Reinhardt College Eagles will take part in a quarterfinal game at the No. 4-seeded Montreat College Cavaliers on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Montreat, N.C.
Other first-round matches include the third-seeded Union College Bulldogs hosting the No. 6-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan College Bulldogs at 2 p.m.; the top-seeded Milligan College Buffaloes entertaining the No. 8-seeded Virginia Intermont College Cobras at 7 p.m.; and the second-seeded Bryan College Lions at home against the No. 7-seeded Bluefield College Rams at 7 p.m.
During the regular season, Reinhardt lost 2-1 to Montreat at home on Oct. 10. The winner of Saturday's contest between the Eagles and Cavaliers will advance to play at Milligan in a semifinal contest on Friday, Nov. 13. The Buffaloes will host both semifinal games next Friday and the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Milligan College, Tenn. The winner of the tournament earns an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship event.
Reinhardt finished the regular season at 6-8-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the AAC while Montreat ended 7-8-1 overall and also 4-2-1 in conference play.
