ROME, Ga. -- On the road in non-conference play, the Reinhardt College volleyball team lost 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 23-25, 25-11) to the Shorter College Lady Hawks on Tuesday night at the Winthrop-King Centre.
Each team ended with 15 attack errors, but Shorter had 43 kills in 125 attempts (.224 percentage) while Reinhardt collected 28 kills in 104 attacks (.125). The Lady Hawks finished with nine service aces, compared to four for the Lady Eagles.
For Reinhardt, freshman Tori O'Brien led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs while Sami Lane registered seven kills and 11 digs. Freshman Monica Kafka posted a match-high 23 digs while Courtney Byrd chipped in with 15 assists.
The Lady Eagles dip to 9-17 overall while Shorter is 23-8. Reinhardt will not play again until next Tuesday when traveling to take on the Virginia Intermont College Lady Cobras in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match. The contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Bristol, Va.
