WALESKA, Ga. -- On Senior Day, the Reinhardt College men's soccer team registered a 4-0 shutout victory over the Virginia Intermont College Cobras in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match at the Jim & Syble Boring Sports Complex. It marked Reinhardt's final regular season home game this year.

Following the match, the Eagles' five senior players were honored as part of Senior Day. Reinhardt's 2009 seniors include Spencer Davidson, Stephen Semasky, Carlos Mejia, Derrick Bowen and Paul Wiesboeck.

Davidson opened the scoring less than eight minutes (7:54) into the match with an assist from Philip Overby, giving the Eagles a quick 1-0 lead. After halftime, Davidson struck again at 53:17, this time with freshman Alexander Wallace earning an assist. Reinhardt went ahead 3-0 at the 70:51 mark when Dylan Beagle tallied a goal that was assisted by Davidson and in the final second of the contest, Wallace knocked a long-distance shot into the net.

In goal for the winners, Zack Schultze and Ryan Achin combined on the shutout. Schultze started and played 71 minutes, making two saves, before giving way to Achin, who was in for final 19.

The Eagles outshot Virginia Intermont 23-8, including 10-2 on goal. The hosts had a 7-6 edge in corner kicks and each team committed 16 fouls.

Reinhardt improves to 6-8 overall and 4-2 in the AAC while the Cobras are 0-11, including 0-7 in conference play. The Eagles will conclude their regular season with an AAC match at the Union College Bulldogs next Saturday at 4 p.m. in Barbourville, Ky. The game is part of a conference doubleheader with the Reinhardt and Union women's teams playing at 2 p.m.
