WALESKA, Ga. -- On Friday evening at the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center, the Reinhardt College volleyball squad had its three-match winning streak end with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) Appalachian Athletic Conference loss to the visiting Montreat College Lady Cavaliers.
Each team finished with 21 attack errors, but Montreat recorded 48 kills to Reinhardt's 30. The Lady Eagles came up with five service aces, compared to just two for the Lady Cavaliers.
For Reinhardt, freshman Tori O'Brien had a match-high 11 kills and the same number of digs while Courtney Byrd contributed 16 assists and 10 digs. Freshman Monica Kafka posted a match-best 24 digs while Sami Lane chipped in with 10.
The Lady Eagles are 9-15 overall and 7-6 in the AAC while Montreat improves to 22-14 overall, including 11-2 in conference play. Reinhardt will host an AAC match with the Bryan College Lady Lions on Saturday at 3 p.m.
