HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -- Megan Lane represented the Reinhardt College women's golf program at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Tournament on Tuesday by finishing as the event's runner-up. Montreat College hosted the tournament at the par-72, 6001-yard Crooked Creek Golf Club.
Rain on the first day of the event forced Monday's round to be canceled. The 17 players wound up playing 27 holes on Tuesday.
Lane opened with an 87 during her first 18 holes and showed no signs of tiring as she fired a 40 over the final nine. Lane ended with a 127 total, just one shot behind the tournament medalist from Union College. Union won the three-team competition with 362-177--539, followed by host Montreat (354-187--541) and Tennessee Wesleyan College (366-178--544).
This tournament concludes the 2009 fall seasons for Reinhardt's golf teams. The next event for the Lady Eagles will be in March.
