WALESKA, Ga. -- Justin Wagner, from Canton, Ga., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to play tennis for the Eagles in spring 2010 under head coach Jennifer Sackman. Already taking classes at Reinhardt, Wagner came to the College from Furtah Preparatory School in Acworth, Ga.
Wagner, the son of Paige and John Discenza and Rick and Lisa Wagner, earned four varsity letters in tennis in high school, including one at Etowah High School before transferring. One of the top players for Furtah Prep last season, he helped lead the Falcons to a second-place finish in Region 4AA of the Georgia Independent School Association in 2009. As a junior, Wagner qualified for the state tournament in singles. A fine all-around student-athlete, he was also a varsity letterwinner in soccer and golf at Furtah.
"This is just really where I wanted to go," Wagner said of Reinhardt. "I live close and I wanted to play tennis. I'm taking summer classes now and I like the campus a lot. It's definitely a nice place and I'm just excited to be here."
