WALESKA, Ga. -- Dustin Carnahan, a 5-foot-8, 145-pound attack from Powder Springs, Ga., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play for the Eagles' first-year men's lacrosse program in spring 2010 under head coach Binz Hansen. Carnahan will come to Reinhardt from Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, where he played for head coach Tarve Riggins.
"Dustin has a very good skill set and is a versatile player," Hansen said. "I am excited to see what he can do this coming year."
Carnahan, the son of Mike and Kathy Carnahan, earned four varsity letters in lacrosse, three at Hillgrove and one as a freshman at McEachern High School. Carnahan played goalie for three years before moving to attack as a senior and leading the Hawks in goals. Carnahan was chosen for and competed in the Georgia All-Star Lacrosse Classic at Oglethorpe University on May 31.
"I was given the opportunity to better my education and play the sport that I love, which is lacrosse, and that's the reason why I'm here," Carnahan said of Reinhardt. "I came to the tryout, had fun, saw the campus, got to meet some of my future teammates and it was just an all-around good experience. The campus is nice and it looks like a good school."
Carnahan chose the Eagles over Kennesaw State University and Georgia Southern University.
