WALESKA, Ga. -- Constance Chase, a 5-foot-8 defensive specialist/outside hitter from Woodstock, Ga., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play volleyball for the Lady Eagles under head coach Angela Monds. Chase will come to the Lady Eagles from The King's Academy in Woodstock, where she played for the Crown Athletics Knights under head coach Danielle Dodd, a former Reinhardt volleyball player herself.
Chase, the daughter of Devney Nixon, played four years of varsity volleyball in high school. As a senior, Chase was named her team's Most Valuable Player after leading the Knights to a 19-3 overall record and a championship at the Athletic Conference of Christian Educators (ACCE) state tournament. Also in 2008, her squad finished in fifth place at the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) national tournament.
"I felt like I was at home with all of the girls and it just felt like it was the right thing for me," Chase said of Reinhardt. "I like the school and I like the people here. Being able to play volleyball in college is a big deal for me."
Chase chose Reinhardt after considering Savannah College of Art and Design and Kennesaw State University.
