HOOVER, Ala. -- Savannah Strickland, a 5-foot-10 middle blocker from Hoover, Ala., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play volleyball for the Lady Eagles under head coach Angela Monds. Strickland will come to Reinhardt from Hoover High School, where she played for head coach Donna Burke.
Strickland, the daughter of Lee and Lisa Strickland, played for Hoover in Class 6-A, the largest classification in Alabama high school athletics. During her senior season, the Lady Buccaneers were ranked as high as No. 6 in the state while competing in 6-A Regional C, one of the toughest in Alabama. Strickland is currently part of the Team Sting Volleyball Club, playing for the 18-and-under national team under head coach Julie Dailey.
