ROME, Ga. -- On Friday morning in their respective Southern States Athletic Conference Championships, the Reinhardt College men's and women's tennis teams lost to nationally ranked foes in first-round tournament action to conclude their 2009 seasons. Shorter College is hosting both events.  

The No. 6-seeded Reinhardt women fell 5-0 to the No. 3-seeded Brenau University Golden Tigers, ranked 10th nationally in the NAIA, at Berry College's Richards Tennis Courts. In men's play, the No. 6-seeded Eagles lost by the same score to the No. 3-seeded Lee University Flames, rated No. 16 in the country, at Shorter's Walt Attaway Tennis Complex.

The Lady Eagles finish the year at 5-8 overall while Brenau advances to the tournament semifinals at 17-4. Reinhardt's men's squad ended 1-9 overall while Lee moves on to the next round with a 9-2 record.
