Shorter came back to regain the advantage before Reinhardt led 28-27 at halftime. Behind most of the second half, the Lady Eagles were within 52-50 with under three minutes left but the hosts sealed the victory by making 10-of-10 free throws in the final two minutes.
Both teams struggled with their shooting from the field as the Lady Hawks made 29.3 percent (17-of-58), including 1-of-13 (7.7 percent) from three-point range, and Reinhardt 29.2 percent (19-of-65), including 4-of-17 (23.5 percent) from behind the arc. The Lady Eagles forced Shorter into 20 turnovers but were outrebounded by a 57-27 margin.
