ATHENS, Tenn. -- The Reinhardt College women's basketball team lost 66-55 at the Tennessee Wesleyan College Lady Bulldogs in a non-conference game on Wednesday at James L. Robb Gymnasium.
Reinhardt led 23-21 at halftime before giving up 45 second-half points. The Lady Eagles outrebounded Tennessee Wesleyan 37-27 and shot 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the field, compared to 36.4 percent (20-of-55) for the Lady Bulldogs. Reinhardt committed 25 turnovers, however, and Tennessee Wesleyan just 11. Also, the Lady Eagles were called for 28 fouls resulting in 32 TWC free throws while the hosts were guilty of 12 fouls resulting in 12 free throws for Reinhardt.
The Lady Eagles got 17 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four assists from Karina Gass while Dallas Smith had nine points and also grabbed seven boards. Freshman Jordan Marsh collected seven points and six rebounds off the bench while Kinsey Galyon also contributed nine points. Freshman Chase Morgan added a game-best three blocked shots.
Reinhardt drops to 0-3 overall for the season while TWC improves to 3-1. The Lady Eagles will be on road for another non-conference contest this Saturday when playing the NCAA Division II North Greenville University Crusaders at 2 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.
