ROME, Ga. -- The Reinhardt College men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2008 seasons on Saturday morning at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Shorter College at Stonebridge Golf Club.  

Reinhardt's men's runners finished in fifth place in the five-team field with a score of 129. The Eagles were led by Danny Sims, who ran a 29:30.06 on the men's 8K course for 30th place among 41 competitors. Shorter, ranked 19th nationally in the NAIA, won the conference title with a perfect score of 15.

In the women's 5K race, Reinhardt ended in sixth place with six teams participating, scoring 161. Kristie Spivey paced the Lady Eagles with a time of 21:49.59 for 26th place in the 48-runner competition. Berry College claimed the SSAC crown with a score of 40.
