MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Members of the Reinhardt College men's and women's cross country programs participated on Saturday morning in the Southeastern Classic, hosted by and on the campus of the Southern States Athletic Conference's Berry College.  

In the women's 5K race, Reinhardt finished in 15th place of 17 squads with a score of 428. Montreat College claimed the title with a score of 67. Kristie Spivey led the Lady Eagles with a time of 21:49.59 for 62nd place among 138 runners.

SSAC member Shorter College won the men's competition, featuring 18 squads, with a score of 41 while Reinhardt had just three runners participate when five are needed to qualify for a team score. The Eagles' top finisher was freshman Chris Higgins, who ended with a time of 30:17.84 on the men's 8K course for 106th place among a 166-runner field.

Both Reinhardt teams are scheduled to be at the SSAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8. The meet will be hosted by Shorter in Rome, Ga.
