COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Reinhardt College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Tennessee Tech University Invitational on Friday afternoon at Southern Hills Golf Course.
The men's field included seven teams, including three NCAA Division I members. Reinhardt finished in sixth place with a score of 217 while Division I University of Evansville won the meet with a score of 32. In the men's 8K race, freshman Cody Fulkerson led the Eagles with a time of 31:11 for 37th place among 56 runners while Danny Sims was just one second behind, ending 38th.
Eight squads were part of the women's competition, including three Division I institutions. Milligan College claimed the title with a score of 27 while Reinhardt finished in eighth place at 266. Kristie Spivey paced the Lady Eagles on the women's 5K course with a time of 22:40 for 38th place among 61 participants.
Both Reinhardt teams are scheduled to compete at the Southern Collegiate Championship in Marietta, Ga., next Saturday, Oct. 11.
