WALESKA, Ga. – Four members of the 2008 Reinhardt College softball team were recently honored with postseason awards from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Earning recognition from the NFCA were senior pitcher/outfielder Ashley Bramhall, junior first baseman/designated player Cassie Davis, senior outfielder Shastin Rader and sophomore outfielder Nicole Rice. All four players were named to the NFCA's NAIA All-East Region Second Team. Bramhall, Rader and Rice had previously received First Team All-Southern States Athletic Conference accolades while Davis was a Second Team All-SSAC selection.

Bramhall, from Houston, Texas, was an at-large/utility pick after hitting .306 and leading Reinhardt in at-bats (186), runs scored (36), doubles (13), home runs (three), RBIs (33) and total bases (83) last season. Bramhall finished eighth in the conference with 0.236 doubles per game and as a pitcher, she paced the Lady Eagles in wins (17-7 record) and ERA (2.90) as opponents batted a team-low .218 against her. Bramhall obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Reinhardt in May.

Davis, out of Metter, Ga., was chosen as a designated player. She hit .340 with 33 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, two homers, 27 RBIs and a .474 slugging percentage.

Originally from Palmetto, Fla., Rader was selected as an outfielder. She hit .337 with a team-best 58 hits, 34 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and 23 RBIs. Rader is expected to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in sport studies from Reinhardt this December.

Rice, out of Douglasville, Ga., was another outfield honoree after batting .329 with 26 runs scored, 11 doubles, three triples, one home run, 20 RBIs and a .466 slugging percentage. She ended seventh in the SSAC in both triples (0.065 per game) and doubles (0.239 per game).

The Lady Eagles completed their fourth season of intercollegiate softball in 2008, under first-year head coach Glen Crawford, with a 32-23 overall record, including 13-15 in the conference for fourth place.
