ROSWELL, Ga. – Sarah Richards, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Kennesaw, Ga., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to attend Reinhardt College next fall and play volleyball for the Lady Eagles under head coach Angela Monds, the 2007 Southern States Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in her first season at the helm. Richards will come to Reinhardt from Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Ga., where she played for head coach Paul Stephens.
"Sarah will be playing right side for us," Monds said. "She's a great girl with a wonderful attitude and will make a significant contribution to the team."
Richards, the daughter of Bruce and Michele Richards, helped lead Blessed Trinity to a 40-14 overall record and the Region 1-AAA championship with a 9-1 mark last fall. The Lady Titans advanced to the Elite Eight in the state tournament and finished ranked No. 4 in the final 2007 GaSports.com/Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Poll.
