WALESKA, Ga. – On Wednesday, the Reinhardt College baseball team will begin play as the No. 7 seed in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament, which is being hosted by Faulkner University at Harrison Field in Montgomery, Ala. In opening-round action, Reinhardt will take on the No. 2-seeded Auburn University at Montgomery Senators, who are ranked 15th nationally in the NAIA, at 10 a.m. Central time (11 a.m. Eastern). The eight-team, double-elimination event is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
The Eagles lost all three games at Auburn Montgomery at the end of March. Reinhardt enters the tournament with a 28-26 overall record and finished 10-17 in SSAC regular-season contests for seventh place. AUM is 37-13 overall and ended in second place in the conference standings at 20-7. If the Eagles beat the Senators, they will play on Thursday at 4 p.m. Central time (5 p.m. Eastern). A first-round loss would result in Reinhardt coming back to play on Thursday at 10 a.m. Central time (11 a.m. Eastern).
