WALESKA, Ga. – Reinhardt College baseball player Jarrod Willis, a junior outfielder from Douglasville, Ga., has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his play from March 17-23. It marks the first time Willis has ever received the honor.
 
In five games last week, Willis hit .625 (10-for-16) with a home run, three doubles, three walks, eight runs scored and seven RBIs. He hit safely in all five contests and had a slugging percentage of 1.000 as Reinhardt went 2-3. All three of the Eagles’ losses came to SSAC rival Lee University, which is ranked second nationally in the NAIA with a 34-1 overall record, including 15-0 in conference play.

On the season, Willis is leading Reinhardt in batting (.449 average), hits (53), home runs (eight), doubles (13), RBIs (40), runs scored (53), total bases (90) and stolen bases (11). He ranks second in the country in runs scored per game (1.559), 19th in hits per game (1.559) and 23rd in total bases per game (2.647).

The Eagles, 18-16 overall and 5-10 in the SSAC, will play a non-conference game at Martin Methodist College on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Central time (4 p.m. Eastern) in Pulaski, Tenn.
