WALESKA, Ga. – The Reinhardt College men’s basketball team won its fourth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon, avenging an earlier 19-point loss to the Berry College Vikings with an 83-73 victory in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest inside the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center. It also was Senior Day, with the three Reinhardt seniors – Victor Stowes (Lithonia, Ga.), Donovan McMullen (Riverdale, Ga.) and Jason Williams (Tampa, Fla.) – being honored prior to tipoff.

Reinhardt never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 12 points in the first half before settling for a 36-33 halftime advantage. The contest was tied three times early in the second half but the Eagles pulled out to two more 12-point leads en route to the 10-point victory.

Reinhardt shot 42.9 percent (27-of-63) from the field in the game with Berry finishing at 35.4 percent (23-of-65). The Eagles were 10-of-31 (32.3 percent) from three-point range, compared to 0-of-16 for the Vikings.

Kevin Nordeen (Kennesaw, Ga.) paced a balanced scoring attack for the winners with a career- and game-high 20 points off the bench while Stowes, an All-SSAC candidate, concluded his collegiate career with 19 points, a career- and game-best 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Freshman Wes Jones (Ball Ground, Ga.) tossed in a career-high 13 points while McMullen ended with 10 points and a game-best two blocked shots in his final game. Preston Powell (Atlanta, Ga.) chipped in with 10 points in a reserve role.

Reinhardt improves to 8-22 overall and finishes 6-12 in SSAC play (tied for seventh place) while Berry falls to 18-12 overall, including 10-8 in the conference (fourth). The Eagles are still in contention for an SSAC Tournament berth, depending on what happens in other games today and tomorrow (only the top 8-of-10 teams make the tournament, which will be played next week at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn.).
