FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – In a Southern States Athletic Conference road game on Saturday afternoon, the Reinhardt College women’s basketball team fell 64-50 to the Emmanuel College Lady Lions.
Reinhardt fell behind 29-19 by halftime before losing by the 14-point margin. For the game, the Lady Eagles shot just 20-of-68 (29.4 percent) from the field, including 1-of-14 (7.1 percent) from three-point range, while Emmanuel finished 25-of-70 (35.7 percent) from the floor, including 4-of-26 (15.4 percent) from three-point territory. Reinhardt committed only 13 turnovers while forcing 18 but was outrebounded 58-45.
SSAC Freshman-of-the-Year candidate Kinsey Galyon (Knoxville, Tenn.) had a game-high 18 points, six rebounds and two steals to lead the Lady Eagles while Newcomer-of-the-Year hopeful Nichole Willis (Meansville, Ga.) tallied 11 points, five boards and three steals.
Reinhardt is 10-18 overall and 5-13 in conference play (ninth place) while the Lady Lions move to 20-7 overall, including 12-6 in the SSAC (tied for third). The Lady Eagles will host conference foe Shorter College on Thursday at 6 p.m. with the contest being played prior to the men’s matchup between Shorter and Reinhardt.
