GAINESVILLE, Ga. – On Thursday evening, the Reinhardt College women’s basketball squad lost 73-62 to the Brenau University Golden Tigers in a Southern States Athletic Conference road game.
 
Reinhardt trailed 37-30 at halftime before falling by the double-digit margin. Brenau shot 49.0 percent (25-of-51) from the field in the contest, compared to 43.4 percent (23-of-53) for the Lady Eagles. Reinhardt outrebounded the Golden Tigers 36-27 but committed 21 turnovers, compared to 14 for the hosts.

Freshman Kinsey Galyon (Knoxville, Tenn.) had 16 points and four rebounds for the Lady Eagles while freshman Dallas Smith (Douglasville, Ga.) collected 13 points, six boards, three assists and two steals. Lindsay Taylor (Marietta, Ga.) added 13 points and a game-high five assists off the bench while Nichole Willis (Meansville, Ga.) scored seven points and pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds.

Reinhardt is 10-17 overall and 5-12 in the SSAC (tied for eighth place) while Brenau improves to 16-11 overall, including 8-9 in conference play (sixth). The Lady Eagles will play an SSAC contest at the Emmanuel College Lady Lions in Franklin Springs, Ga., on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will be played prior to the men’s matchup between Reinhardt and Emmanuel.
