Joining O’Connor on the national scholar-athletes list were Bekah Gay, a junior defender from Canton, Ga.; Jesse Larson, a junior forward out of Thomaston, Ga.; and Hailey Pope, a junior midfielder also from Thomaston. All four of the players were also chosen to the SSAC All-Academic Team in late October.

In order to receive a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, student-athletes must be juniors or above in academic standing, have attended their current institutions a minimum of one full academic year, have minimum grade-point averages of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of their nominations, and have been certified as eligible.

“I am very proud of our entire team for having a great season,” Lady Eagles Head Coach Andy Kaplan said. “I attribute most of our success to the fine leadership of our student-athletes. They set a great example for our whole team by working hard in the classroom and on the soccer field.”

Under Kaplan, Reinhardt finished 11-6-1 overall in 2007, including 7-3 in the conference for fourth place. Following the SSAC Tournament, the Lady Eagles went on the make their third NAIA region tournament appearance in the last four years.
