WALESKA, Ga. -- Reinhardt University women's soccer player Katelyn Prester was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her play from Aug. 30 through Sept. 5. It marks the first time Prester has earned the weekly conference honor, and she is now a nominee for the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.
Prester, a 5-foot-10 senior forward from Kennesaw, Ga., started in two matches last week as Reinhardt posted a 1-0-1 record. She scored four goals during the week with all of them coming in the Lady Eagles' 9-0 non-conference win over Brewton-Parker College on Aug. 31.
On the young season, Prester leads Reinhardt in goals (four), points (eight), shots on goal (eight) and has the team's lone game-winning goal. Within the AAC, she ranks among the leaders in all offensive categories.
The Lady Eagles are 1-0-2 overall for the year. Reinhardt concludes a four-game homestand on Monday when hosting the Tennessee Temple University Lady Crusaders at 1 p.m.
