MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – In the semifinal round of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at Berry College, the No. 4-seed Reinhardt College women’s soccer team had an early lead before dropping a 5-2 decision to the top-seeded Lee University Lady Flames, who are ranked No. 1 nationally in the NAIA. Reinhardt will now wait to find out if it will be awarded a bid to the NAIA Region XIII Tournament.

Lindsay Taylor (Marietta, Ga.) put the Lady Eagles in front 1-0 with a goal in the 15^th minute before Lee answered with a pair of goals at the 28^th and 39^th minutes, taking a 2-1 lead. Reinhardt’s Jaclyn Cockerill (Marietta, Ga.) tied things up at 2-2 at the half on a goal off an assist by Taylor. After the intermission, the Lady Flames rallied with three goals in the 49^th, 57^th and 78^th minutes, thus advancing to Saturday’s championship match.

The Lady Eagles fall to 11-5-1 overall while Lee stands at 17-1.
