WALESKA, Ga. -- On Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game, the Reinhardt University women's soccer team routed the visiting Brewton-Parker College Lady Barons (from Mount Vernon, Ga.) by the score of 9-0 at Ken White Soccer Field.
Reinhardt scored its first goal of the day at the 17:26 mark of the opening half and never looked back. The Lady Eagles scored three more times in the first 45 minutes, taking a 4-0 halftime lead. Just over a minute into the second half, the hosts tallied another goal and continued to roll to the lopsided victory.
Katelyn Prester led the winners with four goals, two in each half, while freshman Ashley Yarger collected one goal and two assists. Heather Rogers, Elizabeth Waite, Katherine Amatulli and Laura Waite also picked up goals while freshman Krista Barikos contributed a pair of assists. Heather Hundelt and Laura Waite each added an assist.
Reinhardt ended with 35 shots, including 22 on goal, while Brewton-Parker did not get a single shot off. The Lady Barons' two goalkeepers combined for 13 saves.
In goal for the Lady Eagles, Chesley Torrance got the start and played the entire first half before Chelsea Bettis took over for the final 45 minutes.
Reinhardt moves to 1-0-1 overall while BPC is 0-3-0. The Lady Eagles' four-game homestand to start the season continues on Thursday when they host the Savannah College of Art and Design Bees at 4 p.m.
