WALESKA, Ga. -- Ryan Osborn, from Chatsworth, Ga., has signed a letter of intent to attend Reinhardt University in the fall and compete in cross country for the Eagles during the 2010 season under head coach Dianna Hinton Zima. The 5-foot-11, 148-pound Osborn will come to Reinhardt from Murray County High School, where he ran for head coach Sam Young.
Osborn, the son of Jeff and Teresa Osborn, earned four varsity letters in cross country, three in baseball and one in track at Murray County. As a junior in cross country, he finished 58th of 230 runners at the Class AAAA state championship meet, helping his team to a 10th-place finish. As part of the track team this past spring, Osborn was a member of the 4x400-relay team that set a school record, and he also competed in the 400-meter dash for the Indians. Over the summer, Osborn played travel baseball with the 18-and-under East Cobb Mets, and he plans to try out for Reinhardt's baseball squad after the New Year.
"I think the campus is beautiful and I just want to go on to the next level in running," Osborn said. "I love having the opportunity to run for Reinhardt. On my tour, everyone was nice around the campus, and I liked it and thought it was really nice."
